A National Commissioner, three senior management staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and an external member of The Electoral Institute (TEI) on 14th December began a four-day professional training course in Elections, Electoral Data Management, Storage and Analysis in Los Angeles, California, United States.
Anchored by the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies, (ICPS), the training is aimed at improving the participants’ skills in the identified critical areas of election management. It is also coming at a time when the Commission is taking a keen interest in warehousing electoral data for research and knowledge purposes.
An expert in Elections Administration, Conny McCormack is the programme’s Lead Facilitator, while the Los Angeles County’s Chief Election Official, Dean Logan served as Guest Speaker.
The participants are: National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Prince Solomon Adedeji Soyebi (Team Leader), Acting Director General, The Electoral Institute (TEI), Dr Sa’ad Umar Idris; Deputy Director, Research and Documentation, Mr. Emeka Nwachukwu; Deputy Director, Electoral Training, Mr. Ifeanyi Agoha and an external member of the TEI, Dr Kole Shettima.
