Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and his entourage comprising National Commissioners, Prince Solomon Soyebi, Prof. Okechukwu Ibeanu and Engineer Abubakar Nahuche, his Special Adviser, Prof. Mohammad Kuna, Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi and Director of International Cooperation and Protocol, Engineer Okop Umobong took time off to visit some local government offices of the Commission after the Stakeholders’ Meeting on the Ekiti Governorship Election, held at the Great Eagle Hall, Ikere Road, Ado-Ekiti on July 9.
The Commission’s offices were located in Aramoko, Irepodun/Ifelodun and Ado local government areas.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner for the State, Prof. Abdulganiy Raji showed the INEC Chairman the facilities available at the offices, including the materials warehoused for the governorship election.
Prof Yakubu seized the opportunity to appeal to staff members who were on hand to receive him to put in their best to ensure the successful conduct of the election.
